UTPAL ROBOTICS

Services

Bring us the hard part.

We work directly with people and teams — students stuck partway through a project, and organisations that need a machine built which does not exist yet.

What we do

Five kinds of work.

Ranging from an afternoon of direction to a machine designed and built from nothing.
  • 01

    Project Guidance

Direction for students and builders working through a robotics project — scoping it sensibly, choosing hardware, and getting unstuck when it stops working.

  • 02

    Consulting

Technical guidance for robotics and drone work: reviewing an approach, weighing options, and identifying what will cause problems later.

  • 03

    Prototyping

Building and testing a concept physically, so a decision rests on a machine that exists rather than on a document.

  • 04

    Custom Robotics

Robotic systems developed for a specific job — mechanical design, electronics, and the software that drives them.

  • 05

    Custom Drones

Drone platforms built around a defined application, from airframe through to flight behaviour and integration.

How we work

No mystery to it.

Three steps, and an honest answer at the first one if the work is not a good fit.
01

A conversation

You describe what you are trying to build and where it currently stands. We say plainly whether we are the right people for it.

02

Scope

We agree what is actually being built, what it has to do, and what is deliberately left out of the first version.

03

Build and iterate

The machine gets made, tested and corrected. Physical things rarely work first time, and the schedule should assume that.

Scope

We are a small operation, and we would rather turn work down than take on something we cannot do well. If a project needs capabilities we do not have, we will say so at the first conversation instead of discovering it halfway through.

Services

Describe the machine.

A few lines about what it has to do is enough to start. We will tell you what is realistic.
